memory verse

I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him.

Scripture Memory Verse #3

"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified." Romans 8:39-30

This is one of the verses referenced by Chip Ingram in his book Effective Parenting in a Defective World. He uses as a goal for what we want to acheive in raising our kids. We want them to be "conformed to the likeness of His son."

Memory Verse

My memory verse for the last half of this month Psalm 103 17-19

"But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.
The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all."

I've been reading Mary's Magnificat in Luke and she refers to these verses either directly or indirectly through out the passage. Mary's reaction to the angel when she was told she would have a baby was one of acceptance that the Lord is sovereign and he knew what he was doing. I also like the part about how the Lord's love is everlasting through the children because of the parent's faith.
